Lessons

Three instruments, one song

Piano, guitar and drum students learn the same worship songs in the same key, so by the end of Level 1 they can play together. Want to sing too? Add voice to piano or guitar in an extended lesson.

Piano

Chords, left-hand bass and rhythm patterns, building toward playing a full worship song from a chord chart.

Ages 5+

Guitar

G, C, D and Em first, then strum patterns and dynamics. Smaller guitars and easy chord shapes for young players.

Ages 5+

Drums

Steady time, grooves, fills and transitions. Drummers learn to serve the song and the room before speed.

Extended lessons

Play and sing: instrument + voice

A longer, special lesson for students who want to sing while they play, the way worship leaders do. Each one covers the instrument, the voice, and putting them together.

Piano + Voice

Chords and rhythm on the keys, plus breathing, pitch and tone, then singing a worship song while you play.

Ages 5+

Guitar + Voice

Chords and strum patterns, plus breathing, pitch and tone, then singing and strumming a full worship song.

How a lesson works

Every lesson opens with the Word

Worship is a whole-life response to who God is (Romans 12:1). We practice with skill (Psalm 33:3) and with a right heart (John 4:23-24). Each student goes home with a practice chart and a memory verse.

Extended Piano + Voice and Guitar + Voice lessons add a voice segment: breathing, pitch and tone, then singing while you play.

The Path

Four levels, from first chord to leading worship

Each level ends with a milestone performance at a student worship night, held throughout the year. Students can start any time.

Foundations

Four chords or a basic beat, one full song, and what worship truly is.

Band skills, chord charts, following a leader, and serving the church.

  • Two-year Bible college diploma, with study of Scripture and worship
  • Touring and worship-leading experience
  • Several years teaching piano, guitar, drums and voice to students of all ages
